Culture
Back when Pakistan and India were a single country, known as Hindustan, many different cultures and people ventured to trade. As a result, Urdu became a lingua franca. Hindustan was subject to colonialism by the English and as a result some of the culture transferred. It became a language to muslims and Pakistanis alike when it parted with India. As a result, both countries have similar cultural patterns when it comes to food, language, clothes, and attitudes.
Centripetal and Centrifugal forces are a large part of countries and how they are able to stay together, including Pakistan. Pakistan has its fair share of centripetal and centrifugal forces push and pulling at the inner workings of the country metaphorically speaking. Religion and physical geography are key centripetal forces for Pakistan, as the rivers and mountains help their people to stay together. They can also be a centrifugal force as well concerning the Kashmir conflict which is hurting them and their people because of border problems.
The use of maps can illustrate religious diffusion such as using toponyms, a term used for the proper names of things, can help to show what religions and cultures made it so the names of certain things hold value. You can also find where the religion started from by finding its hearth, Islam is the national religion of Pakistan, and Islam's hearth came from the middle east. Islam is also a universalizing religion, meaning it tries to appeal to all kinds of people, become widespread, and eventually global, as of today it has accomplished all these things and has become one of the five most popular religions in the world,
Another important aspect of culture is language. Language changed from place to place, dialects were born and from those dialects entirely new languages were formed. People moved place to place and as they formed different dialects and from there different languages, which lead to the creation of language families. Depending on where you live, you most likely are speaking a dialect of some sort that originated from another language. Toponyms, as I stated earlier, are the proper names of things and they can be important to a language as the root of languages can be found by using certain toponyms in areas close to where that language is spoken.
